Authorization Waiver Lifted as of June 15, 2020
SHP resumed accepting prior authorization service requests beginning June 15, 2020. Requests for services provided between June 15 to 30, 2020, may be submitted post procedure/service to avoid disruption of care. View the Authorization Waiver notice on the SHP Provider website.
Telehealth for Commercial Plans
Samaritan Health Plans has extended the temporary telehealth expansion and reimbursement through Dec. 2020, for Commercial Plans only. Other plans have not been determined at this time. Read the full announcement regarding the State of Oregon’s telehealth agreement for health insurance plans.
Contacting Samaritan Health Plans
Most staff at Samaritan Health Plans continue to work from home. Please be patient when calling and utilize email whenever possible.
When submitting a corrected claim, claims need to be resubmitted as originally billed. In box 22, billing with a 7 and the ICN indicates it’s a corrected claim. A corrected claim replaces the original claim.
Provider & Demographic Changes
All provider and demographic changes must be reported to Samaritan Health Plans within 30 days. Update your information electronically at provider.samhealthplans.org/Update-your-info to help us provide the most accurate information to our members.
Remember to allow 90 days from the time we receive a complete Oregon Practitioner Credentialing Application (OPCA) and supporting documents so the Credentialing department can complete their process in order to add a new practitioner.
