Provider Learning Collaborative: Ensuring Meaningful Language Access — Review of Oregon’s Requirements & Provider Responsibilities

Friday, April 7, from 12:15 to 1 p.m.

Language and communication problems can significantly impact health outcomes. To help CCO’s across Oregon address patient interpretation and translation needs, the Oregon Health Authority implemented the Health Equity Measure in 2021: Meaningful Access to Health Care Services for persons with limited English proficiency. Providers and health care teams all have a key role to play to improve access to high quality interpreter services.

The Provider Collaborative will cover the following:

  • Review of Oregon’s requirements related to meaningful language access.
  • Overview of OHA’s Health Equity Measure: Meaningful Access to HealthCare Services for persons with limited English proficiency.
  • Description of OHA required data needed from providers and care teams.
  • Review of the interpreter reporting mechanism in the provider portal for reporting OHA-required data.
